The capacity of a battery is measured in mAh (milliamp/hr) or in Wh (Watts/Hr).
The link is direct between capacity and time of use of the device powered by the battery.
Regarding laptop batteries, manufacturers indicate, for a laptop which would be powered 2 hours with a 4400 mAh battery :
- additional 20 min autonomy with a 4800 mAh battery
- additional 40 min with a 5200 mAh battery
Difference is more important again between two batteries 6600 and 7800 mAh.
These important differences come from internal cells of batteries : a 4400 mAh or 6600 mAh battery is assembled w 2200 mAh cells, while 5200 or 7800 mAh are with 2600 mAh internal cells. The unitarian difference is multiplied by the number of cells.
